Three Rivers Church

Clem Walchshauser, a friendly Gospel preacher, planted a church in a middle school in Plainfield in the late 1990’s. The ministry attracted people from all walks of life and has continued to grow. They purchased a plot of land on SR 59 at the DuPage River and for several years met with God in prayer in a tent on the site. CBC designed a contemporary worship center for 400 with offices and classrooms. The frame is unique, built of exposed steel tubing and wood deck. The building is afforded space for planned additions and an expandable sanctuary. CBC overcame the challenges of building in a flood plain with on-site storm water retention. The congregation participated by volunteering for some of the carpentry work, painting, landscape and siding, and together with donated materials and subcontractor donations, they saved nearly $200,000.
